Traditional and online media members have their own takes on the Orange prospects.
Sean Keeley is the creator of a blog about SU athletics titled “Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician.” The site’s name came from when Keeley heard the phrase when SU played Auburn in 2002 and then-quarterback Troy Nunes took the Tigers into triple overtime.
Keeley graduated SU in 2000 and still follows the team despite living in Seattle. After last year’s 8-5 season and New Era Pinstripe Bowl victory, he can already see the difference.
“This is a team that Syracuse fans are excited about and this is a team that the players seem proud to be a part of,” Keeley said in a phone interview. “That was missing for so long in this program, and I think they’re getting a little bit of swagger back.”
Keeley says he expects the fans to be ready for even more success in the 2011 season. “They’ve been through some pretty tough times,” Keeley said. “I think they feel like they’re in good hands and its exciting. It’s just great to be excited when you’re talking about Syracuse football.”
